Railjet is the newest train in the fleet of the ÖBB, and was brought into service with the new timetable for 2008/2009.
The trains total 185.5 metres in length and consist of a steering car and 6 carriages, all of steel construction. This train is pulled by a Taurus-locomotive at speeds of 230 km/h to 250 km/h. The complete length of the train including the locomotive is 205 metres.

The trains were built by Siemens Transportations Systems in Vienna and Graz.
