In our capacity as ‘Wall-Imaging’ specialists, we were awarded the contract to redesign a waiting room for children in the Kaiser Franz Josef hospital. The concept we developed through repeated assessment transformed the area from a rather sombre, sterile environment into a fun, lively and colourful space in which one might forget one was in a hospital.
The assignment was carried out with the collaboration of the noted designer Wolfgang Abfalter, who created the images and took over the creative direction of the project.
Feedback from both hospital staff and patients has been overwhelmingly positive, and we hope that other institutions follow their bold example.
